Vintage items, though precious and fabulous, are not brand new, so small flaws and signs of wear, are a given with any Vintage item from any Vintage shop.
I do my best to describe any obvious flaws if any, and am selective when choosing the quality Vintage gems THF has for sale, making sure I only sell items with a lot of life left in them.
The photos provided are part of each items description so be sure to view them properly, as all items are sold AS IS!
Vintage collectables are where most of my passion and knowledge lies, however I can’t ever know everything, and can only describe items to the best of my knowledge.
I have no intentions to mislead or portray an item as something it’s not.
Postage quotes provided are to Australia only, (clothing is an exception and details are further down the page) and items under $50 are not registered. Items over $50 automatically have registered post added onto the cost of the displayed shipping quote.
If you’d like to add registered post onto your order under $50, please let me know prior to checking out.
If you choose to not register your parcel; though I pack things very well, I can’t be responsible for lost or damaged items through the post, and it will be posted at your own risk with no refunds if your item is lost or damaged.
Registered post is the safest way to post. It promises your item to be delivered, and if broken due to mis-handling during its transit, you can claim your money back through Australia Post.
For larger pieces, we often courier pieces as Auspost doesn’t accept the size.
We’re often shipping furniture and pictures and lamps.
This can be a longer process to get them packaged safely so please bare with us.
We also only do courier collections on Fridays as it’s the only weekday we’re at the shop, so time may be a little longer to receive your item.
Couriers however, don’t accept insurance or cover for vintage/antique items, so although we do package your items very well… (In the past we have even been paid by other customers to package pieces not even bought through us) …we can’t cover the piece, so posting is at your own risk.
Pictures and prints are a largely inquired item to post and we always ship with couriers as Auspost usually doesn’t accept the size, as we package them quite largely to ensure safe delivery.
Pictures with glass frames are taped to hold the glass in tact in case of damage during transit due to courier neglect. Sorry if it means you have to spend a bit of time removing tape residue but at least your print arrived safely.
As mentioned, we also package very well with plenty of packaging and do our best to ensure safe delivery. We have shipped many and never had one arrive damaged thankfully.
So please, if purchasing and shipping via courier, it is at your own risk if this does not arrive safely as we have done the best we can at our end.
If you are concerned, sadly I suggest not purchasing, or contact the company ‘pack and send’ and get them to package and send the piece to you.
Pickup is always encouraged! It means I get to meet the new owner of the fabulous item, and know that the item is being delivered safely this can be done so at our vintage shop 553 Plenty Road Preston 11-6pm Fri-Sun.
It also saves you on postage costs!
International orders, We only ship clothing internationally due to their lack of fragility. We have had too many unpleasant experiences shipping collectables internationally due to cost involved in shipping, and parcels getting ‘lost’ in the post and having to refund for them. When shipping collectables, our packaging is always so good it makes the parcel rather large, so it costs a fortune and we don’t want to disappoint you with a postage quote that’s more expensive than the item itself. Sorry for this, hopefully it changes in the future but for now, we only ship vintage clothing internationally.

Shipping quote provided on the product is for Australia only. This is not the international rate. Each rate will have to be calculated depending on the destination and weight, so please go ahead and purchase the item clicking ‘pickup’ to secure the item for you, and then we will go and get shipping quotes.
Once a quote has been received, I’ll send through a paypal money request for the postage and once that’s paid your item will be posted.
Where International orders are concerned, the buyer is responsible for any taxes etc incurred upon entry into their respective country.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.
Vintage clothing & accessories
Vintage clothing & accessories pieces are always described as best as possible and thoroughly examined when photographing and measuring.
All items of vintage clothing & accessories are not available in store to purchase. They are strictly available online at this stage. If you would like to try on a dress please let me know in advance as they are stored in a location that I can only access once every week or two and it may be inconvenient for you.
Vintage clothing is just that, vintage, and although we do our absolute best to find pieces in remarkable condition, they have usually been worn previously and will all show some minor signs of wear. Any faults, stains, problems of any kind will be noted in the condition section of the website.
We can’t road test each vintage piece, and due to their vintage nature, on occasions, unexpected things may happen sooner than expected however we are not to know, and it is not our responsibility. For example, a button may fall off, or a hem fall down, a bead fall off, or in the case of a shoe the sole may appear strong and functional, but due to their age may need to be re-healed as the soles material may break. These can’t be predicted and I’m sorry if this happens but it’s out of my control and all part of the vintage story.
Clothing is measured lying flat from armpit to armpit, across the waist, hips if applicable, and also the length. We do this as accurately as possible.
All electricals sold are second hand. Prior to leaving THF, they have been plugged in, and they all function, unless stated otherwise.
However I’m no electrician, so to stay on the safe side, you must have them professionally tested before used as I am not to be held responsible for electrical faults.
I do take laybys. If you’d like to put something on layby, let me know and I’ll send out my layby form for you to fill in and return.
Laybys are strictly for one month only unless prior negotiated.
30% of the full amount is to be left on the item before the layby can go ahead.
No need to make further payments through the month, as long as the rest of the payment is received within the 30 days.
If full payment is not received within the 30 days, the item will be put back in store and the deposit on the item won’t be refunded.
All information gathered for your account is used to fulfill your order only, the site is completely secure and no info will be shared with any third party. No banking or credit card information is stored here as all payments are via PayPal, or by pickup.
We hope that you love your purchase, but if not, returns are accepted under the following conditions only:
Items may not be returned due to change of mind, or if you have misread the description and or measurements of an item/garment.
Items that may be returned are items that are received faulty, or with damage that I may have missed in the listing process.
Items damaged during transit are at buyers own risk and not my responsibility (please see postage information above) and can not be returned or refunded.
Returns will be issued in the form of store credit or exchange only, without exception.
Items must be returned to us in the exact condition they were dispatched, within 7 days of receipt for purchases in Australia, International to be discussed upon return application.
We must be notified immediately of your intention to return an item.
All returns incur a 15% restocking fee
All postage costs are the responsibility of the buyer and are non refundable.
Items already sold.
Due to THF having stock located in various locations, There is a very slim chance that an item on the website might have already sold when you too have purchased it.
This would be very coincidental, however if this does occur, a full refund will be put back into your Paypal account and you won’t be out of pocket one cent. However as the item will have already left my hands, I won’t be able to get you the item.
This rare occurrence, though it’s never happened before, is out of my hands, and nothing more than an apology, and the refund will be offered.
